Hello Neighbor, The Olney Lions Club has been serving the local community
since 1972 when our 42 charter members created a new club from the Sandy Springs Lions Club. We have a list of
activities that we do which includes a golf tournament called the Olney Open, a holiday party in December, and Charter Night
dinner in June, a summer picnic, and 10 monthly meetings on the second Tuesday of each month. We meet at 6:30 PM at
The Inn of Brookeville Farms on Georgia Avenue in Brookeville, MD. We support a lot of local community organizations, and when events like 911, a
Tsunami, earthquakes or hurricanes happen we are ready to provide assistance from our club and many others
through the Lions Clubs International Foundation. We provide free eye examinations and glasses to students of
low income families. Hearing aids and other special items have been provided to people after being referred to
us by schools or social service organization. To help fund our charities we have a Pancake and Sausage Breakfast in
February, and mulch sales in April.
