Olney Lions
Over the last couple of years the Lions Club International leadership has
been softening their view on members discussing business as a breach of Lions Club etiquette. Now is the
time to embrace this new enlightened philosophy with the economy in a recession. Many of you club members
are in business, sales or service industries. A few club and family members have been laid off or in your
jobs you are severely affected by lack of business and we have a golden opportunity here to help our friends morally and financially.
Lions Helping Lions.
If you need work done or are in need of services,
shouldn’t we want to do business with a friend and fellow Lion? In your circle of friends, neighbors
and associates if they are looking for services, goods or employees you could refer them to a Lion and be doing everyone a
favor. Doing business with a Lion or referring them to others is a WIN-WIN situation.
During
the last year since this program was initiated several club members have used the services of other club members. To
participate, what we would like to do is ask you to send a business card or facsimile there of, to the Club Secretary, Lion
Mike Fekete mgfekete@verizon.net or the Web Master Lion Myron Shear at myron.shear@gmail.com If you are looking for new employment write up an announcement using about the same space as a business card and send
it to Lion Mike. We will create a listing and publish it in the PRIDE and on the club’s
web site.
During the month of January we would like everyone to update their information. Our newsletter goes to many of
the Lions Clubs in the area and we can ask that the clubs distribute the information to their members or refer them to our
web site.
